Major manufacturer of electric cables Leoni launched new plant in Nizhegorodsk region. German concern invested over 1 400 000 000 rubles in this project. The goods made by the new plant will be supplied to Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tolyatti. The plant will occupy territory of the Zavolzhsk motor factory industrial park. Japanese and German residents, producing bearing parts and anti vibration details, already work there.
Leoni plant will create over a thousand new vacancies. Its launch is another step in the creation of an automotive cluster in the region. Over 2010-2011 around 3000 automotive vacancies have been created in Zavolzh'e, and this number continues to grow. German concern gives preference to young specialists, which is highly beneficial for college and university graduates. Leoni intends to increase the number of available vacancies up to 2000 in the nearest future. These ambitious plans are actively supported by the local government and are based on the company's four-year experience in the region.
