About 4,7 million Euro is invested into new Volvo customs department in Kaluga

volvoGrand opening of Volvo Customs Department factory took place on the 29th August in Kaluga region. Volvo invested about 4.7 million Euro in this project. The total territory occupied by the object is 15 000 square km. Customs processing zone occupies 200 square km of the mentioned above territory. Previously customs processing took about two days; now, this timeframe can be reduced to 8.5 hours for a single goods item. The launch of a new customs department allowed the creation of 15 new vacancies. Next year the number of vacancies is expected to double.
Apart from reducing customs processing timeframes, launching a terminal is beneficial due to the forthcoming launch of VolvoCE factory. Thus, the range of logistics and customs operations will have to be expanded. The terminal will as well be used by other enterprises, working in the same filed of expertise. Local government and Volvo chief executive team took part in the grand opening of the terminal.
