Swiss group of companies, Interroll Gruppe, specializing in logistics, automation and assembly-line equipment production signed up a contract with PepsiCo. The contract presupposes the creation of warehouse equipment for a new warehouse facility in Azov. The necessity in the new facility comes from the expansion of PepsiCo business in Russia and, thus, the need to open a new warehouse.
The new distributive center will deal with snacks – in particular, with potato chips from one of the company's major brands - Frito-Lay. This new space-saving warehouse will operate the FIFO (First In First Out) principle with the help of energy saving technologies. Project commissioning will take place by the end of this year. Interroll Gruppe had already cooperated with PepsiCo in 2009, increasing the potential of a wholesale depot in Kashira, a town in the Moscow region. At that time, the primary goal of the project was the expansion of the warehouse facilities and reduction of the human labor due to the implementation of the assembly lines. Implementation of this project allowed PepsiCo to save about half a million Euro.
