Moreover, the region is beneficially located with regard to Moscow and is a powerful agricultural base for the central part of the country. The agricultural sector is currently in need of similar centers, seeing that they are experiencing a series of difficulties in realizing its products. This logistics center will also be needed for retailers. It will combine storage, refining, sales, and realization of agricultural products. The project is valued at 10 billion rubles ($333 million). The first phase is planned for commissioning next year. Valery Shantsev, head of Nizhegorodsky oblast, reckons that the project will provide an opportunity for strengthening connections between retail an agriculture. In the end it will become an interlink between consumers and manufacturers.
